IWS-FAS · four-size PEX crimping kit

A compact, short-handle manual kit for copper-ring PEX installation and repair. Use one crimper across four nominal tubing sizes, with preparation and inspection tools organized in a carrying case.

Crimp sizes

Kit
Crimper, inserts, PEX cutter, go/no-go gauge and case
Difference from FA
No copper-ring removal tool listed

One tool, four copper-ring sizes

The tool's built-in jaw handles 1-inch connections. Three removable inserts provide 3/8-, 1/2- and 3/4-inch crimping. Select the insert by nominal tubing and ring size, not by measuring the outside diameter of the tube.

What is included?

  • IWS-FAS short-handle crimper with a built-in 1-inch jaw.
  • Three interchangeable inserts: 3/8, 1/2 and 3/4 inch.
  • PEX tubing cutter and go/no-go inspection gauge.
  • Carrying case for the listed components.

No copper-ring removal tool is included in this FAS selection. The long-handle FA configuration has different package contents.

FA or FAS?

IWS-FAS
Compact short-handle configuration with cutter and gauge; useful where portability and tool storage matter. Allow clearance for the full handle opening.
IWS-FA
Long-handle configuration with cutter, gauge and the listed copper-ring removal tool. Choose it when the extra leverage and removal accessory suit your work.

Check before ordering: Copper-ring crimping is different from stainless-clamp cinching and PEX expansion. Select IWS-FA or IWS-FAS deliberately; individual jaw options contain no complete crimper.

Characteristics

Preparation and inspection

  1. Prepare: cut the tubing square, inspect the fitting and choose the matching copper ring.
  2. Position: seat the tube and ring according to the fitting manufacturer's insertion and ring-position instructions.
  3. Crimp: fit the correct jaw insert, align it squarely around the ring and complete the tool stroke.
  4. Inspect: check the crimp with the appropriate go/no-go opening. Stop and correct failed connections according to the system instructions.
  5. Test: complete the required system test before putting the installation into service.

Calibration and maintenance

The adjustment mechanism is for maintaining the prescribed crimp result, not for increasing compression arbitrarily. Follow the tool instructions and check the result with the gauge after adjustment. Keep jaw surfaces clean and inspect inserts for wear or damage.

Does this replace a PEX clamp or expansion tool?

No. FAS is for the specified copper-ring crimping method. Stainless cinch clamps, stainless press sleeves and expansion rings use different tooling. Confirm the exact fitting-system instructions even when the nominal tubing size matches.

Which consumables should I add?

Add copper crimp rings in the sizes required for the job. A mixed-size tool kit does not mean rings are included. Browse the copper-ring PEX collection or ask us to check your fitting and ring combination.
