Application and technical information
- Purpose: Designed to make F1960 cold expansions. Solid, permanent, manufactured connections without the need for torches, glues, solder, flux or gauges can be expected by expanding Non-Barrier PEX Tubing and reinforcing ring to make a connection with an ASTM F1960 fitting.
- Components: IWS-1960MC F1960 Hand Expander Tool Kit includes 3/8'', 1/2", 3/4" and 1" expansion heads, tool lubricant and a sturdy carrying case.
- Versatility: Provides consistent and reliable expansion of PEX-a tubing and expansion sleeves from Uponor(Wirsbo) ProPex, Sioux Chief PowerPex, Everflow PexFlow, Apollo ExpansionPex, etc,.
- Trouble-Free Connection: Go/no-go gauges are never required. Meets ASTM F1960 Standards.
- Applications: Plumbing, fire safety, radiant heating and cooling systems. Ideal for residential, commercial and industrial projects.
PEX Expansion Tool for ProPex Type Expansion Ring Connection
F1960 connection is made by placing a compression ring onto tube, expanding tubing and ring, inserting a full-flow fitting, and holding in place until tube/ring memory secures the connection.
- Designed exclusively for use within Type A PEX piping systems.
- Convenient carrying case, tool, 3/8'', 1/2'', 3/4'', 1'' expander heads and grease.
- Expands Type A PEX pipe for ASTM F1960 expansion-style fittings.
Confirm the connection system first
Match the exact tube dimension, fitting family and specified crimp or press profile. Copper crimp rings, stainless cinch clamps, press sleeves, expansion connections and copper press fittings require different tooling. Matching diameter or country alone does not establish compatibility.
Preparation and inspection
Prepare and inspect the tube and fitting; use the correct ring, sleeve or jaw; complete the prescribed operation; inspect with the required gauge and perform the system test.
