IWS-2538CF · North American copper plumbing press

Larger copper press sizes, with two wrench-drive options.

Press the listed 1-inch, 1-1/4-inch and 1-1/2-inch copper plumbing fittings using the corresponding jaws. Choose a compatible socket wrench or impact wrench drive rather than an integrated battery press machine.

Three inch sizes

1, 1-1/4 and 1-1/2 inch nominal fitting sizes. Not a 25/32/40 mm metric kit.

Wrench driven

Manual socket wrench or compatible impact wrench. A powered driving wrench is a separate tool.

System first

Listed for Viega ProPress copper plumbing fittings. Confirm the exact fitting series and its tool requirements.

Match the fitting system—not just the tube diameter

Use the jaw for the marked nominal fitting size and confirm the tube, fitting series and required press profile together. Brand names alone are not universal compatibility approval.

This is not a PEX, refrigerant RLS/ZoomLock or European metric press kit. Similar-looking jaws or close dimensions do not make those systems interchangeable. A tool listing is not a pressure rating for the finished piping system.

What to check in the kit

The configuration is IWS-2538CF with the three listed jaw sizes and the listed socket wrench. A driving impact wrench is not included. Confirm the current packing list before buying additional accessories; do not order an extra jaw simply because it appears in related products.

Manual or impact drive: choose for the job

The US listing recommends impact-wrench operation for sizes 1 inch and larger. Use only a drive, socket and operating setting permitted by the tool instructions; do not infer an impact torque rating from fitting size.

The detachable arrangement helps positioning, but the required work envelope includes the jaw opening and the driving wrench. Confirm access around the whole fitting before starting.

Prepare, press, release and test

  1. Verify the fitting system, tube specification and the matching jaw size.
  2. Cut square; deburr, clean, check the sealing element and mark insertion depth as specified by the fitting manufacturer.
  3. Insert the tube fully and position the jaw squarely on the fitting’s press contour.
  4. Complete the prescribed drive cycle, then release the tool following its instructions.
  5. Inspect the press and carry out the required system pressure or leak test before service.

Is this a complete battery-powered press tool?

No. The press assembly is wrench-driven. An impact wrench, when used, supplies the drive and is separate.

Can I use these jaws for refrigeration fittings?

No compatibility is established for refrigerant systems by this copper plumbing specification. Select a system-specific refrigeration tool.

Are 1 inch and 25 mm interchangeable?

No. Nominal inch and metric fitting systems have different dimensional and profile requirements.

Does the LED prove the joint will not leak?

No. Follow the fitting supplier’s inspection and testing process.
