AP-2048 · ignition-terminal crimper
A ratcheting tool for compatible spark-plug and ignition-cable terminals.
- Listed cable limit
- Up to 8.5 mm diameter
- Application
- Supported ignition terminals
- Package
- AP-2048 tool
Why choose this configuration?
- A wide jaw opening helps position the terminal.
- Polished jaw surfaces support clean terminal formation.
Check before ordering: This is not a battery-lug crimper. Cable diameter alone does not prove terminal fit; follow the ignition-terminal supplier’s preparation instructions.

Understand the working cavities
The illustrated jaw provides separate working areas for conductor crimping, insulation support and the listed stripping operation. Use the terminal manufacturer's preparation method, particularly for ignition cables with a specialized conductor construction.
Positioning and control
A wide-opening jaw helps load the prepared terminal. Polished working surfaces reduce burr contact with the terminal, while the ratchet guides a complete closing cycle. Inspect both the electrical connection and the cable support after crimping. Cable diameter alone is not a terminal-compatibility specification.
Preparation and inspection
Prepare the cable and terminal as specified, position in the matching jaw, complete the cycle and inspect the finished assembly.

Check the exact model, connection type and applicable standard before ordering. A standard referenced in a product description is not, by itself, evidence of third-party certification. Ask us for model-specific documentation if your project requires it.
