Product details
- Deutsch Crimping Tool: iCrimp HD-2612 is a premium crimping tool for Deutsch solid contacts. Must have tool for making automotive electrical OEM wire harness with Deutsch connectors.
- Crimp Range: A high quality Deutch crimp tool creates a precise crimp for 26 to 12 AWG solid pin Deutsch terminals. For use with Size 20, Size 16, Size 12 Deutsch solid contacts, which are used with Deutsch DTM, DT and DTP connectors respectively.
- Four Indent Crimping: Built in die sets create a four-indent, 8-impression crimp providing the most uniform displacement of wire and contact material.
- Applications: Ideal for repair and maintenance work of automotive electrical wiring in Truck, Bus, Off-highway, Construction, Agriculture, Mining, Emergency Vehicles, Forestry, Recreational, Marine, Motorcycle.
- Tool Gauge: Periodic gaging is recommended to insure accurate calibration. Easy design provides quick results. Tests for a standardized and accurate crimp. Two testing ends to ensure proper tolerances. Strong and durable design.
Deutsch Crimping Tool(Equivalent to HDT-48-00), 26 to 12 AWG
iCrimp HD-2612 Deutsch crimping tool is designed to crimp Deutsch solid contacts(closed barrel pins) of Size 20, 16, 12. These contacts are compatible with Deutsch DT, DMP, DTP, HD30, HDP20, DRC, HD10, DRB, STRIKE, Jiffy Splice series. For use with larger wire sizes in heavy duty applications. This style of contact is manufactured using a cold heading process and solid copper alloy wire. The resulting contact is a closed entry design.
Match the terminal, not just the wire gauge
Check the terminal part number, barrel construction, conductor size, insulation support and required crimp geometry. Solid contacts, stamped contacts, ferrules and cable lugs use different tooling. Gauge alone does not establish compatibility.

Preparation and inspection
Identify the terminal and wire; strip to the specified length; position in the matching tooling; complete the operating cycle; inspect and test the first sample before continuing.
Check this configuration before ordering
Send the selected model, component part number, dimensions and a clear application photo to sales@iwiss.com. For a kit, check the supplied-item list; tools or consumables in application images are not automatically included.

HD-2612
Solid-contact indent crimping
For supported closed-barrel contacts used in connector harness assembly and repair.
- Published working range
- AWG 26–12; exact contact and settings must match.
- Choose different tooling for
- Stamped-and-formed open-barrel contacts, ferrules and battery lugs.
Plan a reliable termination
1. Identify
Distinguish machined solid contacts from stamped-and-formed contacts. Check the individual contact, not only the DT, DTM or DTP housing name.
2. Prepare & position
Use the specified strip length and contact position. Set the locator and crimp adjustment for that contact and wire; keep all strands inside the barrel.
3. Inspect
Inspect conductor insertion and the crimp location. Check contact retention, seal and housing assembly to the connector instructions; a crimp tool alone does not establish a waterproof rating.
Common questions before you crimp
Are solid and stamped Deutsch contacts interchangeable at the tool?
No. They use different crimp geometries. Select indent tooling for the supported solid contact and matched open-barrel tooling for a stamped contact.
Does a DT, DTM or DTP label prove compatibility?
No. Confirm contact construction, part number, contact size, wire and tool settings. Different wire-barrel versions can exist within one contact size.
Can I reuse a contact after a poor crimp?
Follow the contact manufacturer’s replacement instructions. Do not treat extra squeezing, soldering or forcing a damaged contact into a housing as a substitute for a correct termination.
Get a useful compatibility answer
