Application and technical information

  • Applications: Deutsch DT series environmentally sealed connectors are the best choice for transportation and racing industry. The Deutsch DT connector is commonly used with mining equipment and many other off-road applications as well as heavy duty trucks to fire, specialized and military trucks to motorcycles and ATVs to boats and other marine applications.
  • DT Connector Assembly: Deutsch DT connector is made up of Receptacles and Plugs, with corresponding Locking Wedges for each (making up the Deutsch Connector housings), as well as Pins and Sockets that are inserted into the housings to complete the assembly of the connector.
  • Configurations: Available in 2,3,4,6,8 and 12 pin configurations. Ideal for OEM pigtails.
  • Size 16 Solid Pins: The solid contacts are designed for use with larger wire size and heavy duty applications. Solid contacts are manufactured using a cold heading process with solid copper alloy wire. Size 16, 14AWG, 13 AMPS, green stripe, nickle plated.

Match the terminal, not just the wire gauge

Check the terminal part number, barrel construction, conductor size, insulation support and required crimp geometry. Solid contacts, stamped contacts, ferrules and cable lugs use different tooling. Gauge alone does not establish compatibility.

Preparation and inspection

Identify the terminal and wire; strip to the specified length; position in the matching tooling; complete the operating cycle; inspect and test the first sample before continuing.
