KIT-285: insulated terminals for workshop repairs

285 pieces across 18 listed terminal configurations. Choose a ring terminal for a matching stud, a male/female quick disconnect for the correct mating tab, or a butt splice for a compatible end-to-end wire joint. Piggyback terminals provide a branch connection only where the circuit and mating terminal permit.

Color group Listed wire range What else must match
Red 22–16 AWG Actual barrel, stud hole or tab dimensions
Blue 16–14 AWG Actual barrel, stud hole or tab dimensions
Yellow 12–10 AWG Actual barrel, stud hole or tab dimensions

Color is an identification aid, not a universal standard across all brands. Check the actual terminal marking. Metric and inch stud labels are nominal references; verify fit on the real stud.

Matching crimping tool

IWS-QC with the X30J insulated-terminal die lists 22–10 AWG / 0.5–6 mm² for matching insulated terminals. Use X30J, not the ferrule or solar die. The kit already includes an ICP-4021 stripper for its own 20–10 AWG range; 22 AWG preparation needs a suitable smaller-wire stripper.

Installation

  1. Isolate power and select the terminal by conductor size, material and connection dimensions.
  2. Strip to the terminal specification, preserving all strands. Insert fully so the conductor sits in the metal barrel.
  3. Align the insulated-terminal die over the specified barrel area and complete the ratchet cycle.
  4. Check retention and inspect for split insulation, loose strands or a distorted mating end. Follow the terminal's acceptance criteria.
  5. Seat the ring or disconnect correctly, support the wire and verify the circuit before energizing.

Is this a waterproof heat-shrink kit?

No heat-shrink sleeve or waterproof rating is established for these standard insulated terminals. For wet locations, specify a suitable sealed termination system rather than assuming colored insulation seals the joint. No building-wiring approval is implied.

Wire preparation before crimping

FSA-0626 wire stripper lists 22–10 AWG and is a preparation option for compatible wire within that range. Its 0.6–2.6 mm marking is diameter, not mm² conductor area. Use the exact contact's strip length, verify a sample for strand damage and skip an extra stripper if suitable preparation tooling is already included or owned.

Design standards & application compatibility

Check the exact model, connection type and applicable standard before ordering. A standard referenced in a product description is not, by itself, evidence of third-party certification. Ask us for model-specific documentation if your project requires it.

Design references are not third-party product certifications. Use the model specifications and the fitting or terminal manufacturer's instructions to confirm compatibility.

How manufacturing supports reliability

IWISS manufacturing capabilities include precision machining, heat treatment, assembly and quality inspection, with dimensional measurement and tensile-testing equipment. The inspection method and acceptance criteria depend on the tool and connection application.

Connector and terminal selection

Identify the connector series, contact construction and wire size before choosing an assortment.

Before ordering

  • Match housing and contact part numbers; cavity count alone does not establish compatibility.
  • Check conductor size, insulation diameter, seals and the required crimping tool.
Does the piece count mean complete connector sets?

Not necessarily. Housings, contacts, seals and accessories may each count as individual pieces. Check the selected pack's contents before ordering.

What should I send for a fit check?

Send the product model, cable or pipe size, connector or fitting part number, and clear photos. Include the intended application so our team can help you identify the appropriate setup.
